Guided Tour (English):

Our exhibition on the Jewish Contribution to the World of Ideas would have been unimaginable in Argentina a few years ago and it would still generate some hostility in today’s Europe. Making apparent the Jewish roots of Western civilization can help neutralize negative preconceptions about the Jews, and to better understand the world we live in.
Our exhibition presents, firstly, ideas that originate in Jewish culture, such as Monotheistic, Prophetic and Rabbinical thought.
Secondly, we trace some ideas that Jews as individuals have contributed to our world.
Thirdly, we deal with unique contributions of notable Jews in varied areas such as medicine, social sciences, and even chess.
Ideas that exemplify the first group are represented in our exhibition by Abraham, Moses, Isaiah and Hillel.
Great men and women representing the ideas of the second group are, among others: Philo (Hellenism), Spinoza (Rationalism), Hermann Cohen (Neo-Kantianism), Derrida (Post-Structuralism) and Ayn Rand (Objectivism.)
Finally, the contribution of notable Jews to specific areas are shown through personalities including Kafka (literature), Einstein and Bohr (physics), Freud and Melanie Klein (psychology), Nordau and Fromm (social philosophy), Von Mises (economics) and Levi Strauss (anthropology).
From the Bible to Rita Levi-Montalcini, through Maimonides and Yehuda Halevi, the contribution of Jews and Judaism to the world of ideas has been unique.
We hope you enjoy our presentation, and we would be delighted to present it in different languages to cultural institutions abroad.
Our exhibition is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the State of Israel.
